Full Description:
In honor of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, this introductory course demystifies hospice services, clarifies eligibility requirements, and highlights the benefits of a patient-centered approach at the end of life. Participants will gain a better understanding of how hospice supports patients, families, and caregivers physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Faculty Bio:
Marie Fiebach-Long
Marie Fiebach is a Community Liaison for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Harry Hynes is a nonprofit hospice serving South Central and South East Kansas for over 40 years. Marie came to hospice after working for her father in nonprofit cemeteries. She firmly believes that proper hospice care can bring comfort, support, and peace.

Requirements:
- Define and distinguish between LDL (low-density lipoprotein), HDL (high-density lipoprotein), and triglycerides.
- Understand the health risks associated with high cholesterol and why cholesterol management is vital.
- Identify common dietary and lifestyle factors that influence cholesterol levels.
- Recognize misleading “fad” diets or cholesterol myths and understand evidence-based approaches to nutrition.
- Apply simple, personalized nutrition hacks to support heart health and cholesterol balance.
