This noncredit course is for individuals who have passed the Kansas State Certification Exam but did not work in a KDADS approved facility in the 2 years after passing the state exam and would like to have their certification reactivated by the state.

The state of Kansas has created a Task Checklist to be completed by a KDADS approved RN after your satisfactory demonstration of all skills on the checklist. Upon satisfactory completion and demonstration of the Kansas Nurse Aide Task Checklist the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability will be notified and the CNA certification will be updated. The process through the state may take 2 weeks to complete.

Faculty Bio:
Gina Hardin-Moyer, R.N.
I have been a Registered Nurse since 1992. I have worked in many areas of nursing including O.B., LTC, Acute Care, Public Health and School Nursing. As a school nurse I taught many health related classes as well as the CNA course in the high school setting. In the CNA course you will learn the skills to meet resident needs regarding their activities of daily living, resident rights, infection control and safety for the resident you care for as well as for yourself. In the CMA course you will learn about medications, doses, expected outcomes and any unexpected outcomes or side effects. Administering medications is a huge responsibility! Our courses are created using the appropriate KDADS manual along with a few other resources used to compile the course. My hope is that this class will be a valuable, rewarding and enjoyable experience for you. I am excited about working with you and sharing my passion for this area of nursing.
