Full Description: 
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is critical for improving your website's visibility, attracting the right audience, and driving organic traffic. This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to the key elements of SEO, equipping you with the knowledge and tools to enhance your site's performance and ranking.  

You’ll learn the fundamentals of optimizing website content, conducting keyword research, and addressing essential technical elements to ensure search engines can effectively crawl and index your site. Through hands-on exercises and practical insights, you’ll leave with actionable strategies to boost your online presence.  

Key Topics Include:  

Conducting keyword research and incorporating keywords effectively.  

Crafting high-quality, SEO-friendly content that engages users.  

Improving on-page SEO through metadata, headers, and internal linking.  

Understanding and resolving technical SEO issues like site speed and mobile optimization.  

Leveraging tools like Google Analytics and Search Console for performance tracking.  

This workshop is ideal for marketers, entrepreneurs, and website owners looking to enhance their digital strategy and improve their search engine rankings. 

Previous experience is not required to take this course. Those who complete the course will earn a certificate from WSU Tech. This course will not qualify for-credit, for degree seeking students.

Krissy Buck 
 
Krissy Buck is a dedicated advocate for creating inclusive online and in-person communities. As the Program Director of ShockStarter, a student-led digital marketing agency, and as an educator at WSU Tech, she empowers her students with the knowledge and skills necessary to leverage digital marketing for meaningful connections with their audiences and brands. 

 With a proven track record, Krissy previously served as the Chief Community Officer at QuiCC, a tech startup based in Wichita. During her time there, she successfully expanded QuiCC's user base to 77 countries in just ten months. 

 In addition to her professional roles, Krissy is the vice chair of Digital Wichita. This nonprofit organization educates Wichita's marketing and business community on the latest trends in digital marketing. Digital Wichita also hosts Social Media Day Wichita.
