Full Description:
CPR for Future Ready Center for Healthcare is a hands-on course that provides students with the essential skills and knowledge to perform high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for infants, children, and adults. Designed specifically for students pursuing careers in healthcare, the course follows the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Participants will learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, administer effective chest compressions, provide ventilations, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Through interactive instruction, skills practice, and real-world simulation, students will gain the confidence and competence to respond effectively in critical situations. Successful completion of the course results in CPR certification, a requirement for most healthcare training programs and employment in medical settings.

Faculty Bio:
Debra Daniels

My name is Debra Daniels. · I am a retired physical education and health educator. In addition to teaching, I also coached volleyball, basketball, cross-country and track. In my spare time (Ha), I began teaching for Cowley County Community College, then moved to WATC and now WSU Tech where I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work with the wonderful adult learner! · I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in education from Emporia State University and earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at WSU. · While at Emporia State I worked as an athletic trainer all four years. I was chosen to be one of the first of two, females to enter the ESU student athletic program at Emporia State University in 1972. The head athletic trainer, John Baxter, at ESU stated that I was the cause of his gray hair, then loss of hair. That time at ESU was the beginning of my love and interest in first aid and caring for the sick and injured! I have held certification to perform and teach CPR since the age of I9. A long, long time ago, I have always enjoyed being a part of the healthcare profession.
